SFA President's Corner
David L. Wells, Stealth Fighter Association President
Letter from the SFA President - Thanksgiving, 2007
Ladies and Gentlemen, Fellow Members and Supporters of the Stealth Fighter Association, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support to myself and the outgoing Board of Directors. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as both your SFA President and the 2002/2007 Reunion Committee Chairman. The outgoing board consists of myself; Art Weyermuller, Vice President; Sherrie Bouché, Secretary/Treasurer and Business Manager for the 2002/2007 Reunions; Mike Harris, the first SFA President and, during this last tour, a Board Member; Doug Robinson who sought and won re-election of his Board Member seat; David Walker, SFA Art Director for the 2002/2007 Reunions; Jay Tweed, the SFA Communications Director; and Tammy Ward, the SFA Webmaster, has elected to stay on in that position. During our tour as the SFA governing council, we tried to improve the interface between the board and the organization’s membership. The newsletter was expanded and feedback was requested from all readers. Opportunities to purchase SFA items were presented. The website was updated giving it a new, fresh look along with increased ease of use. We also added to our membership as a result of “word of mouth” advertisement. Not only did we have an excellent Board but we also had a great Reunion Committee. I would like to thank the following individuals for their outstanding support and dedication in creating the 2007 reunion. Dave Walker and Jan Allison, who stood in for Sherrie and myself during our absences and acted as co-chairs of the reunion. Sherrie Bouché, who is the best Business Manager in the business. Sherrie also ran the registration desk and as everyone that was there knows, it ran extremely smooth. Kent Burns For his tireless effort as sponsorship director. With out his participation this reunion would have been a great deal more expensive. Great job Kent . You are no longer the grasshopper. Kat Smead was our Friday night hostess and did a fantastic job. Jan Allison was the Saturday night hostess and we all know what a spectacular event that was. Alex Odekerken orchestrated the hospitality suite. No fights and no drowning! Great job, Alex! Sharon and John Runci were gracious hosts at the VIP suite and made everyone feel welcome. Dave Walker, Art Director. That is all anyone has to say, just walk into the room and look around. Thanks Puppy. Jay Tweed was our Director of communications and the creator of the newsletter. What a job he did. Always digging and hunting for stories and events with the F-117. George and Linda Garcia were our golf tournament directors. We were having a difficult time finding a volunteer to run the tournament, Linda and George stepped up and ran it from 350 miles away! Bill Lake was our Master of Ceremonies for the second time, and though it is hard to believe, he surpassed his last program, always gracious and always professional. Thank you your Excellency. Quita Gonzalez outdid herself on the audio/visual portion of the banquet. Danny Aviles and his security team for keeping everyone safe from both the bad guys and themselves. The results speak for them selves. All feed back indicates everyone enjoyed themselves. Great job!! Thank you to General Howell Estes III for being our keynote speaker – a lot of history there. Thanks also go to Brigadier General David Goldfein for his briefing on the F-117 bed down. What can I say? My hat is off to all of you, and thanks for a great job. I cannot begin to tell you what a pleasure it has been to work with this wonderful group of professionals and what an honor it is to be able to call you friends. The new Board of Directors elected at the last SFA business meeting are: Bill Lake, President I wish the new board members success and want them to know we will continue to support them in any way, should they need our assistance.
